KACA Juried Exhibitions:
The 2008 Kansas Artist Craftsmen Association conference is to be held October 3 – 4, at Johnson County Community College. The juried member show will be held at the new Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art on the campus, with Director Bruce Hartman as juror. The student show will be held in a JCCC gallery space, and is to be juried by John Kudlacek and Larry Peters. Prospecti for the two shows are downloadable here, and give you all the details needed for entry.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Due to questions regarding the digital entries for both shows, we have new guidelines. The digital entries must be in 300 dpi, but they are to be no smaller than 5" x 7", nor larger than 12" x 12".
KACA has offered juried exhibitions for our membership for many years now, showing at some of the finest venues in the state: the Beach Museum in Manhattan, the Sabatini Gallery at the Topeka Library, Wichita Center for the Arts, the Lawrence and Manhattan Art Centers, among others.
Jurors have included many nationally prominent names in craft including Wendell Castle, Ken Ferguson, Patrick Dougherty, Jeanine Fallino, Mary Douglas,
and others.
Some years, in smaller galleries associated with the conference site, the Member’s Show is non-juried, with paid members selecting one piece to show.
A juried student show is a recent addition, and has proved very popular. This show has allowed university students in Kansas to experience the juried-show process, and we have all benefited by being able to view the exciting and innovative work coming from our university and college art departments.
